The ghastly Virginia Tech offense did not do a single thing... until it played Maryland... and Cory Holt through for 225 yards and rushed for 36. Cory Holt instantaneously became the big man on campus and carried Virgina Tech to the ACC title and an Orange Bowl victory over the hated West Virginia Mountaineers.
